- Start with primary sources. Manufacturer documentation, manuals, network terms and official roaming information come first.
- Cross-check important claims. Independent specialist evidence is used where it adds context that product marketing cannot.
- Record the date and version. Products, tariffs and roaming policies change.
- Expose uncertainty. Unknown, disputed or model-specific details are labelled rather than guessed.
Our source order
We normally prioritise official manufacturer documents, product manuals, mobile-network terms, UK or European official information, and then reputable independent testing or specialist editorial sources.
Research is not personal testing
A manufacturer specification tells us what a product is designed to do. It does not prove how it performs in every campsite, country or vehicle. We label research-based guidance and personally tested experience separately. This private version contains no claim of Touring Sorted product testing.
What can change
Model revisions, firmware, mobile-network bands, tariffs, fair-use thresholds, roaming eligibility, subscriptions and prices can change after a page is checked. Every buyer should verify the current product page, manual and service terms before purchasing.
Safety boundary
General guidance cannot account for every vehicle construction, warranty, electrical system or installation. Follow the relevant manufacturer instructions and use a competent professional where installation affects the roof, body, gas, mains electricity or other safety-critical systems.
